This is a special West Loop Art Market becuase it is the WC Records and Hostage Radio Record Release Party! A day full of fun, entertainment, good art, fashion and most of all....PEOPLE!!!!! Please come out and celebrate life.
The WEST LOOP ART MARKET was developed and organized by artists and musicians in attempt to create a long lasting artistic movement in Chicago based on a core idea; Create a positive environment in which art is accessible and affordable resulting in a joyful experience for all parties involved. Formed as a co-existing newspaper, website, and monthly exhibition for artists, the Market strives to provide the public a direct connection to local talent producing high quality art. The Markets’ primary mission has been to organize and develop a large association of skilled artists, musicians, performers and filmmakers in the Chicago area who are dedicated to their passion and provide them with a direct pipeline to the public. On the second Sunday of every month a wide array of artists based in the West Loop gather in our galley and courtyard behind Landmark Arts at 841 W. Randolph to display their work. To supplement the market we have produced a website and newspaper to be used as a resource for buyers and artists. The community-based publication will also help raise awareness for the diversity and originality found in the West Loop while fueling the creative nature of the neighborhood. We jumped on the opportunity to create an Art Market that would prove beneficial for both artists and connoisseurs alike. The Market has been fortunate to receive the support of the West Loop Community Organization, local businesses and the art buying community. |
