What do you get when you cross Queen, Guns n Roses, The Pixies and Ween? Starting in December of 2003 co - founders Ben Mollin and Michael Balsie had a vision. To keep it fun and keep it real. The story of River Oaks is simple you keep your ego and attitude's at home and play from the heart. Whether it is performing a high octane live show or recording in their studio River Oaks will keep on delivering song after powerfull song. A little bit about the band: Ben Mollin (lead vocals and sax) is a veteran in the Chicago music scene. Playing in such bands as Hot Stove Jimmy, Bobby Slim James and the Variety Band, Wine Press, Wolcott, and also playing for Interscope recording artists Smashmouth. Performing live he captures the audience and takes them for an emotional roller coaster ride, delivering a humbling rock star approach to a front man. Mike Balsie (bass) is no stranger to the stage, has also played bass for Gowhead, and National Jet Set, and has played all over Chicago and the Midwest. Danny Giorgi (guitar, backing vocals, production, engineering) is a monster in the world of guitar and.home recording. He has recorded every one of our songs and is responsible for the bands debut record. Anyone who has had the priviledge playing with him will all say he is an amazing talent and one of the greatest players out there. I know those are some pretty strong words but the guy is a friggin' monster. Danny also played in Wolcott and Kill Your Guitars and Phil. Stephen Fields (drums) his first practice was a gig in Chesterton In. He got the C.D. 1 week before we found out our drummer at the time couldn't play. Not only did -he nail it the first time around, but he is still layin it down thick and is the greatest thing to happen to the band. His talent and commitment to the band is a great thing and he definitely pushed us into the future as a band. Stephen has also played in numerous bands and played all over the Midwest. Thanks for reading this web page, and I hope you enjoy it. Thanks again and keep on supporting local music. River Oaks
