| biography |
"Rosebuddy was formed in Montréal in 1994. The first incarnation of the band included Neil Briffett (guitar/vocals), Rod Bonet (bass/vocals) and Kris Wagner (drums). They quickly established themselves as a dynamic live act with over 150 shows in both Canada and the U.S. Numerous releases followed, including the "Sled" EP, the "On the Nod" single, and the critically acclaimed CD "Over Macho Grande". Changing priorities caused the group to disband in early 1996.
Rosebuddy reformed in mid-1997 with Neil and new members Kris Poll (bass/vocals) and James Misata (drums/vocals). They released the "Viewers Like You" EP in 1998 on Montréal's Wongerground label, and then in 2000 the "Issues" EP was released with No Records of Halifax. Then they went into the studio for a VERY long time. "The Scent and the Sound/Last Band Standing" single was released in the fall of 2003.
Which brings us to 2004, the 10th anniversary (yoiks!) of the band, and the release of their first full-length CD in many years. "Settle for Silver" builds upon Rosebuddy's melodic essence, with 13 dynamic, soulful, sometimes jarring, hook-based songs of love found, love lost, and love misplaced.
